Was also looking for someone to restore my 67 GTO dash bezel. Did a lot of research and spoke with several companies including Darrel Roach. Bezels are really fragile and I was worried about shipping. Came across a company locally to me in Rhode Island called Instrument Specialties. Extremely friendly and knowlegeable. Owner actually owns a 67 original ram air GTO currently under resoration. He also owns a resoration facility. Took a ride down to meet him and drop off the bezel. Gave me a tour of the shop. They're heavy into the Mopars but had a wide variety of muscle cars there. To say I was impressed would be an under statement. He gave me a 10-12 week time frame and had it ready in 14. My fault for waiting until spring. The bezel came out absolutely gorgeous. Chrome, color match, masking, perfect. You could not find anyone that could have done it better. I did supply an original wood grain they put on. He also did a quartz conversion for me on my rally clock. Dude's name is Mike and can be reached at 401-267-0055. Les: Just Dashes did the vacuum plating on the plastic arm rest bases on the Chrysler. I can't recall what the cost was but it may be worth a call being as they are local.

I used MrG's to do mine. Yes the owner was a PITA to deal with. Yes he was upfront about what/what not to expect, yes it took a long time to receive my dash back, yes it was not my best experience in dealing with a vendor. I was told upfront that unless I had an absolutely perfect dash bezel, I would more than likely receive a different one back. He was also pretty s**tty about any questions back to him.

I did send a perfect dash bezel (no broken studs, no cig lighter burns, no damaged holes, etc). I received a perfect dash back as well (no repairs to any of the above). I am pretty certain that I received my original dash back since I converted mine from a non-A/C to an A/C opening and used the score lines on the back. My cuts were not perfect, and the dash bezel I received looked exactly the same.

3-4 years later the dash still looks great. a little of the black paint has come off below the ign switch (keys dragging there), but that is my only issue. I touched it up with a Sharpie marker and you can't see any difference.

I was perfectly satisfied with MrG's work. My father dealt with them back in the '80's when he first got into restoring these cars back then. Matter of fact, there was a box in the trunk all packed up and ready to ship to MrG's in my car when I got it. It was armrest bases and other misc stuff. I bought repros instead.

I had the dash bezel for my '66 F-100 pickup rechromed by Mr. G's some years ago. He was a little gruff on the phone, but I had no problems with him or his service. The replated part looked great and he did all the required painting in the background areas, so it was ready to install when I got it back.

Thumbs down

Auto Instruments totally screwed up my order.

Poor customer service, and the people you speak to there lie about everything.

I will never do business with them again.

1) Purchased a repro dash. 2) Sent it directly to Pete Serio. 3) spent a considerable amount. 4) received a BEAUTIFUL, 1967 Rallye Gauge dash! I am not sure they make new dashes for a 66 yet............I have purchased several sets of A/C "vent balls" from Darrell R. they have arrived in great shape, no problem..... .$.02 Eric
