I'm very surprised it is only at $55,455 with 3 hours left. Looks like someone is going to get a smoking deal

That 73 is not very appealing. I have a Ascot car/ with formula stripe, will NOT use that shade of silver ever..

Do like the plastic valance on that '73 mess, not much else about the car. Am with you on the color, Bruce. Seldom see the original shade of Ascot silver on a low mile '73, the few Formulas I've ran across that were originally that color had cheap resprays by the mid 80's. My barber had a silver 455 Dport '73 Formula around 1984, rebuilt the qjet & installed a pusher pump on it.. That '73 came out of the panhandle of TX & wasn't that bad of shape. That said, at barely 10 years old the sides of the hood were warped. The endura was puckered where the top edges met the fenders, may have been bumped @ one time. Showed him a link to the BAT '73 BG 4spd Formula before it went off, if he was interested. Wants another one, but doubt it ever happens.

Since I have owned 9 of these great cars over the span of 25 years, I can say that I am familiar with them.

The rear bumper is from a 1974-75 LeMans.

The rear spoiler Can Am logo decal is far from the accepted normal location. The bumper impact strip is cracked in the middle.

The lower panel black out is painted on and is glossy. Also, the blackout on the drip rail is mostly gone.

Several large chips in the finish and overall poor panel fit, even for 1977 standards.

Faded center cap medallion

Filler over entire lower door lip. Should be seam sealer. What are those holes in the door??

1978-up Delco radio

Rear seat material is incorrect grain, and does not match front buckets, which are actually correct!

Chrome rear coat hooks not correct

Spare tire not even close to proper, as with the trunk carpeting. Rusty jack and tools.

Poor prep and paint on inner fender liners. Fan shroud is from a same year GP. A/C compressor is modern replacement, as is the radiator cap. Missing purge line from carbon canister. Top post battery terminals. Q-Jet not installed.

That's just from photographs. In person, surely more would be noticed.

Ascot Silver is a most terrible color. I had a '73 Grand Am shot in that color, and it was not appealing, even with the Oxblood gut.

Looking at those led me to this '67. I like it. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...rebird-400-10/

I loved that show when I was a kid...I didn't find out where this t/a belonged in the hierarchy until much later....lol

There is one at the local cruise-in here. He has it talking all the time while it is parked and always draws a crowd...hilarious

But regardless, to get it right you have to lower the car some. That plus the fact that the overall tire height is less would seem to make the ground clearance too low for my comfort.
