Pypes system installation a success!
Installed the Pypes system with an X pipe tonight. Street pro mufflers.
71 LeMans 455 with HO manifolds. I installed it rear to front, but I had to take the downpipes off to measure and cut a couple of times to get it right. Went in like butter. Goes alot faster when you use and angle grinder with a cutoff blade to make the cuts instead of a hacksaw. 8 cuts total. 2 on the pipes fom the muffler to the x pipe, 2 on the down pipes, 2 on the tail pipes by the rear bumper, and two on the pipes that comes from the down pipe to the x pipe. my x pipe is about 3-5 inches behind the tranny crossmember. Muffler in/out came pre slotted so they cinch up real nice when you clamp them. Street pros sound great, nice rumble and no resonance at neighborhood speed around 25 MPH. They are a little on the quiet side but that's what I was looking for. Definitely quieter than the Flowmasters that were on it. The whole project took about 2 1/2 hours. Fantastic do it yourself system that anyone can do and it sounds great. Regards, J69 |

Any pics available? Any performance gain noted over your old system?

Did you have any problems with the tail-pipe hangers? I think I'm getting a bit confused with mine:
