Default Carter AFB airflow restriction wing?

So I'm reading this book How to Rebuild Pontiac V-8s (Im new to this) and in one of the sections they talk about how the Carter AFB could outperform the tripower setup, but since the Tripower setup was integral to the Pontiac brand, they required that a so-called "wing" be added to certain castings of AFB carburetor to restrict airflow and performance.

I was wondering if a list of these casting numbers with restrictive wing is available, as I have a large selection of AFBs to choose from for my motor, and want the best pair possible.

Thanks!

The wing you speak of was integral to the hot idle compensator on auto cars and in the same location and attached the same way on manual trans cars, and as such can be removed on any AFB that has the thing installed. In the picture shown it is the cross shaped thing between the rear throttle bores. Two screws hold it in. Remove those screws, throw it and them away, and plug the hole beneath it with a wad of JB Weld, and you are done. Manual trans cars should not have the hole.
