TH-400 stripped pump bolt holes
on a TH-400 has anyone ever ran into stripped out holes for the pump bolts? Is there a way to put heli-coils in without disassembly of the trans? Of course I will need to remove the pump.

If all of the pump holes are blind ( which I can’t answer) then I can’t see why the trans would need to be disassembled.
Just flush the holes out with brake Kleen and compressed air.

gotta remove the front pump to get them helicois in. Easy task if you got extensions to clear the Bell.

If you have to do any threading or drilling I would remove the TH400 internals. The passage ways of the valve body and internal fluid pathways need to be very clean. It's a very easy job to remove the internals anyway. Like 5 to 10 minutes and everything it out. Use a new gasket kit on reassembly and new filter. Clean the case, and away you go. JMO.

I pulled the pump out and found it to be an easy task. I went ahead and heli-coiled all the holes.
Oh thanks for the offer Tom but Kansas is a little far for me besides it was a simple repair. Chuckie, I have never taken an auto trans apart and the thought is a little scary I saw no reason to take the trans apart to put the heli-coils in.
