Seatbelt Retrofit 1970-72 Lemans 4 door hardtop
I have a pair of lucerne blue de-chromed Luxury Lemans 4 door hardtops.
I do NOT like the two-piece front seat belts. Not so bad with the lap belt, which has a retractor. But absolutely horrible with the upper body belt, which provides such a level of rigidity, I would suppose to create severe upper back injuries. Am flabbergasted these were ever permitted, and even more so why there was never a recall for a retrofit? What are my options for a seatbelt retrofit, with a single belt, three-point retractor arrangement? Yes, these cars have the terrible support bench seat, and I do plan to retrofit buckets, most likely the 1970-72 seats which are not so bad.
