Default Fuel pump inlet?

I'm looking to put a fuel filter before my fuel pump.

Can anyone tell from the attached pic, which of the two SS braided lines is the inlet to the pump?

Thanks!

The one with the worst hose clamp job I've ever seen, haha! Going on 3 years now correcting small stuff from the previous owner, never seems to end.

Thanks a lot!

Just as an FYI, it is not recommended to put a filter prior to a mech fuel pump, those things 'pull', and can effect flow.

Mech fuel pumps struggle as it is with a decent engine, adding a filter before the pump will make it worse.

X2, do not place a fuel filter in between the tank and the pump if that's the only pump on the car!
If the motor still has the stock Q-jet on it then the long paper filter is fine up to about 400 hp with a pump like most stockers that output 6 psi.

If your Carb is flooding out and your finding little black spec's holding the neddle open then it's time to replace all the rubber hose on the car as its breaking down.

The braided line is from 2015.

Sounds like I'll just leave the filter where it is before my carbs fuel rail.

Thanks!

That braided line should be fine for like 8-10 years, should be good in that respect. May want to look at the rubber line under the car, if it hasn't been changed, that's a good sunny Saturday afternoon project.
