Anyone have any experiences (good or bad) with a Predator carburetor. A buddy of mine is thinking about running it on his Mopar 440 ( ) , and I said I would check here for advice about it. This will be a street car for the most part, with occasional strip usage. Anyone, anyone?

yes , i ran one for a couple of years on a 400 i had. it a pretty simple carb and works very well, the car ran as fast with the predator as it did with an 850 holly. low end power is great but it i did have a little problem with the car flatting out on the high end of the track. i would say if you want something out of the norm than give it a try.

Carb came with one of three cam calibrations.

Make sure you have the right one for your application (engine size, etc). Beats the heck
out of me how you change it though if you don't have the right one as where do you get the other
cams now days. Tom V.

with the old predator carbs they came with all three cams. i never seen much improvement with changing cams thou, the best performance adjustment i found was the adjustme for the mechanical venturi opening, that seem to help a lot. it is located in the area of the throttle arm.i just drilled a hole in the cover so i could stick an allen wrench in their to make the adjustment.

A friend used to run one on a high-13 second 400 '68 Firebird. The car got about 6 miles per gallon with this carb on it, about half what you would get with a 'normal' carb.

Thanks for the responses guys, that's the kind of info that I was looking for. My friend is going to s.can the Predator. Now if I could just get him to do the same with the Mopar

Suggest he put it on ebay. We sold one a couple of months ago there.

That's what he said he was going to do with it. Do you remember what it went for?
