Default Is it Stupidity ot Stubborness??

When someone keeps being told over and over again that they're wrong, when they are told over and over again that they aren't going to win, when they are told over and over again by people in authority even, that they are wrong and aren't going to win...

but they keep fighting and wasting everyone's time and money...

when do they cross the line from being stubborn to being just plain stupid???

It's neither called stupidity nor stubbornness.

It's called politics.

Since this is the Lobby, I'll be nice and not go any further with my explanation.

Depending on the situation, both can be pretty much the same.

It takes two to argue. If there is nobody there to participate, they won't talk..
The undying need to be right is widespread.
It can be petty on both ends depending on the situation.
Let it roll off, pick and choose your battles..

Since it is a rhetorical question, I guess I won't answer it.

Anyways...

Since it's a rhetorical question....

this seems appropriate:

I looked this up on the web, focusing on key phrases like "told over again they're wrong", and "aren't going to win", and "wasting everyone's time and money".

I found this....

Rustie, it sounds like a case of "Dumba.ss" and "Ya Can't Fix Stupid" all rolled into one.

Hmmmm, maybe that's rhetorical too?

One way to define insanity; Doing the same thing over and over and over, each time expecting a different result. Sound familiar? The people I'm thinking about are not stupid. They know EXACTLY what they're doing. Also, you can't tell a stupid or insane person that they are stupid or insane. If they understood you they wouldn't be stupid or insane.

Two-way street... Subject matter is "all-important", as is the "authority" doing the "telling". Unless you subscribe to the "might makes right!" philosophy, it is assumed that "authorities" are human, too, therefore imperfect. Seldom are things EXACTLY as they appear.

People been telling me since I was a kid, "You're wrong!" OR "You have a bad attitude!" I've found these to be "interchangeable", depending again, on WHO is doing the "telling". Experience has proven the former to be more often incorrect, and the latter to be 100% true at all times (and damn proud of it!).
