I have been putting them on all the e-headed engines I have messed with.Simple to do with minimal cost.My old 66 chassis used to have irratic oil pressure going through the traps without them.I put the engine in a different car with the drain lines on.Oil pressure was now consistant going through the traps.Just my experiance.

-8 lines from the head to the pan. Works great. No oil puddled in the head when I pull the valve covers.

I think edelbrock had drain back problems on the initial batch of heads. The problem was solved on those heads by carfull grinding and sculpting on the existing drain back holes. Later batches of heads had improved contouring where the oil drained back and pretty much elliminated the problem.

I bought my 330 CFM eheads from Dave at SD Performance. Although they have the earlier combustion chamber design Dave did modified the drain back holes to improve drain back. I think the need for putting on the external hoses for improved drain back may be somewhat dependent on the RPM that your engine is running at. Because of my cam specs my converter stall is 4,400 and I shift at 5,600 and shifting any higher does not improve ET or MPH. So at my RPM I don't believe I have any oil starvation issues. If I was shifting at 7,000 or higher then I would definitely install the drain back lines of get an accumulator to prevent oil starvation.
