GM box too. It’s stapled. ( not for sale)
It was so perfect I couldn’t resist.
I don't recall ever seeing one like that!

Default 1970 console pad

I have a 1970 original black and a 72 original black. had these for years stashed. The lid is vinyl over foam. The grain on the 70 is a little smoother (like a 70 dash) than the 72. No staples on the back of either.

I purchased the NOS one on Ebay a few days ago. It is the later style with the staples but the look is 71 up for the vinyl texture correctness. Very hard to find an original 70-72 style. Cannot comment when they changed as I have never owned a 73 and up car. I think the new style with the staples is the same construction and foam under the cover but the vinyl cover is a little thicker and they used staples to hold it in place. The originals would come unwrapped and roll up on the edges. Just what I remember from owning 30 original cars back in the day.
