Default Battery light

I'm about to give up. On y 67 gto the battery light is staying on. I've had the alter. checked and it's ok. I've replaced 2 regulators and it's stays on. What should I check for now.

There is a possible "partial" ground in the system somewhere, especially if its NOT on Bright. Check circuts that are on the key switch, blower, radio, turn signals relay. Unplug one fuse at a time to help diagnose. Unplug the alternator and see what it does? Good luck!

The light is on when the car is running. When I dicconect the two wires from the alter the light is still on. I pulled all the fuses out and it still is on.

Check your ground cable to block. Also could be a bad regulator, or fried wire at the starter or in the "tube" going down to it. eric

Is the lite on when the key is on in the run position and the motor is not running? Key on , engine off, is lite on? If no lite then you have an open circuit from the ign switch to the reg in the lite circuit. Possible blown fuse or broken wire in this circuit. If this is the case the alt may charge when running and the lite will be on. If it is not charging, then it will be another problem. let us know as much info as possible.

After checking all the grounds I was moving the alter wires and saw a spark. Pulled back the tape and found a slight wear in the pos wire from the alter. Retaped the area took the reg off my daughters car and everything seems to be working ok. Installed the regulator off my car and installed it on the other car and the battery light is on. Either it shorted out from the posi wire to manifold guess I'll get another one.
