Default Need 70 Tempest Bumper Stabilizer Brackets

I need both mounts, straps, and fasteners as circled:

I think the rubber cushions are reproduced. The strap is reproduced for the GTO endura nose, but not for the Tempest/LeMans.

They should be on the bumper assembly where these 3 mounting holes look lonely on mine:

PM if you can help.

Frank's had the two mounts so I ordered from them.

I still need the two brackets labeled "11" on the diagram. They are PN 477660 on the assembly drawing.

The rubber "stabilizers" labeled "26" (PN 9799960) would also be nice to find but Ames sells them for GTO and I suspect are the same for Tempest/LeMans but used with a different bracket.

Thanks for any help finding them.

Anyone have these straps?

Or know where I can look for them? Frank's does not have them.

Thanks,

Mike

Thanks HFR

I saw those but hoping for less rust/pitting.

Desert Valley Auto has a better set of straps so will go there if no-one on PY can find some.

Appreciate the help!

I also have one more box of parts to look through. It's weird I had this tucked away but so far not the straps:

Shiny, Unfortunately, these small brackets often get lost in the shuffle, ESP when parts cars are dragged in missing a complete bolted on front header panel & core support. Though the attachment setup is similar to used on a '69-70 GP, & loosely to that of a '70 GTO, know I've been guilty years ago of not identifying those small brackets. In a pile of mainly throw away parts in floor pan of a cheap LeMans, they were easy to miss.

Might ck out at Franks in California. As many '70 LeMans header panels are damaged, might be something he has loose.

I resemble this...

But yes, I get it. Apparently, whoever slapped on parts from 2 other vehicles onto my cheap LeMans saw no reason to even use these stabilizers. To his credit, the bumper did not fall off.

The sad truth is buying these brackets will double the value of my car. The irony is if I had a valuable GTO, the straps are reproduced and available for half the price of good used. Funny, not funny.

And thanks for suggesting Frank's. They had nice stabilizer mounts and I payed the price but they did not have the straps...

You must have clicked your heels wearing ruby slippers! I'm happy for you because I can confirm they are hard to find...

Fortunately, it looks like I have the header straps and the two small L-brackets at the bottom of the radiator support. I also have two weird ones that I think go between the bumper brackets and the valance (TBD).

Not sure I have the hood latch release lever bracket though. Could turn into another scavenger hunt.

I bought the straps from Desert Valley Auto Parts and feel lucky I found some that weren't rusted away.

I'm now curious about the original finishes on both the mounts and the straps.

These used parts appear to never have been painted, nor do they look like Zn. I assume they were just phosphate coated, then, correct?

Mine are now painted black but I'm kind of surprised that anything somewhat structural wouldn't have had better corrosion protection. The mounts and straps are both very stout parts.
