Looking for a good replacement radiator. Called PYS, Year One and Ames. PYS and Ames have to back order the radiators, 4-5 weeks. Year One no longer carries either radiator they have listed and cannot get them. Called my local auto parts and I can get a Modine for $230.00. I'm not really worried too much about the money as I am with the radiator at least "looking" correct. My original is a little tired and I cannot find any place to dip it. I would just as soon get a GM replacement but as Year One told me they no longer make them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Why not have your orig. recored? If looks are important this may be the way to go. Check around with body shops or at your local dealer / repair facility. Any of these places should be able to refer you to a reputable shop. Check prices first , alot of times you can replace with a modine for about the same cost. I've installed those units before and they have a good visual appearance. mike

455ho,
I had a custom radiator made for my SD about 10 years ago. Ended up deciding to go the aluminum route. The custom radiator fits into the stock core, is based on 3.5" wide tanks and has 5 rows with a 14 fin per inch core. This unit has been sitting in the shop (in a protected place). If you are interested, I can supply pics thru E-mail. I would be looking for around 300 bucks (cost over 450 new). E-mail me, tmcqueen@inficad.com, and let me know. |

I bought a Modine replacement for my GTO for @ $200. It looks identical to the original except it doesn't have the right lettering on the tanks.
Or you can re-core your original, but I don't know how that compares in cost. ------------------ |
