Default FAST EZ

Redoing crappy fuel lines previous installer did on a 64 mild 327 Vette with one. The included fuel pump looks like it has 1/8" pipe inlet and outlets? Metric? Awful small looking. Way smaller than a 1/4" pipe AN I had laying around. The lines to and from the pump were so kinked they nee a 90 on them.

Supplied fittings at TB had sharp edges that had cut into the rubber. Redid with Earls that have a more rounded "bulge" and a compression to AN on the hard liine

Looks like a M10-1.0 fitting.

I've only done a couple of FAST EZ EFI installs, back before the Fi Tech and Holley stuff really took off.

I ditched all the in line fuel stuff and went straight for an in tank pump setup with my own fuel line system setup I build from scratch. I learned a long time ago the in line pump stuff is typically on borrowed time if you drive the car much at all, and like you found, a lot of it is really crappy small NPT fittings.

That was even back before Tanks Inc really took off with their EFI tanks and I had to retro fit in tank pumps with parts I got from Aeromotive.

I've done a few EZ 2.0 systems and a XFI Sportsman. All with ignition control, and all with in-tank pump systems. I'll be installing another 2.0 into a '72 Vette in a month or so.

Even though the line is smaller, the high pressure compensates for additional flow.

Thanks Lee the pressure vs small fitting is how a figured it compensated. I even saw a Walbro pump listed as having those same fittings. Mainly trying to get this car safe and tweaked a little for drive ability (way too much accel pump shot in the computer).

How do you guys feel about the compression to AN fittings for steel line as far as leaking?

I use them when I have to convert the 1/2" steel line to a flexible section, such as from frame to engine for example. No issues with them.

I've used them on 3/8" line several times now, no leaks.

I'm guessing it is the base EZ system, not the 2.0? If so, I recommend a CD box, to give a cleaner RPM signal to the ECU. The better the RPM signal, the better it will run (for any of the EFI systems).

Probably the base system. Being a Vette it has a cable tach distibutor and coil. I haven't looked at how the module is wired to pick up rpm.

Thanks on the info on the compression fittings.

I went through a long deep-dive trying to find steel to AN compression fittings, and it's not easy finding the steel fittings. The aluminum ones 'kind of' work, but depends. I don't trust them, hence why I searched out steel fittings.

I guess the brass ones with the collar would work, but no sure what psi they are rated at. So I kept searching.

Eaton sold AeroQuip, and the new owner(s) (DanFoss/Hosewarehouse.com) now are selling them. Part numbers changed for the fittings, listed those in another thread. They are JIC fittings technically, but the quality of the AN side of fitting is AN quality. And they do list the adapters as 'AN'.

I originally used these for 5/16 trans hard lines to AN, and they are top notch. Take your time ensuring the hard line is cut square and is cleaned up, and they will last forever.

Here's the new thread, couldn't find my original thread, so created a new one:

https://forums.maxperformanceinc.com....php?p=6464983

If you figure out the part number scheme, you can cross to different sizes. Or just search it.

Finding the instructions was a little difficult, so here they are:

Yea aluminum I have a slight concern about on a steel line. Aeroquip uses steel even on the PTFE fittings.

I used a deatschwerks compression to AN on the factory feed line to flex EFI rubber line to TB.https://www.summitracing.com/parts/DWK-6-02-0109 Actually feels a little heavier than most aluminum ANs.

Pump was indeed 10mx1.0. fittings came with a crush washer. installer had used Teflon tape on threads on the EZ fittings. They also had the sharp 'barb' on them, unlike the earls i used.. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/EAR-759166ERL

Finished the replumb today , so far no leaks. We pulled almost all the acel pump out of it with the computer. That little 327 didn't need it.
