Can you post a picture of the PHS or give us the UPC number also. That might help.

Assume you are not the original owner. One question. Does it have any unusual/unique types of options/paint/stripes/engine/trans/rear/etc? It could be also a change that was issued after the car started down the assembly line. Remember that most cars were bought off the lot and not special ordered. I know of very few cars that were special ordered. Usually a dealer (as they do today) orders a bunch of cars with paint/options/etc. that will sell easily. This may have been a special order car by a customer and customer changed his/her mind after it was ordered. Have you contacted PHS as to an explaination?

I never tryed posting pictures hope this works. There is no UPC code. But the hood did look orginal when I bought the car and the hood scoop inserts appeared to be flat black which I heard did not come on regular 455HO GTO unless they where Judges. I geuss I could try and ask PHS if they known what it means. Thanks

With your PHS documents you should also have received a car order form, where you might find the code, although I dont see 802 on my 1970 form. PHS also sent a letter to me that said all codes are not on the order form, since there are things that you would not order, like winter antifreeze.

JOHNNYGOAT,
Be sure to reduce the size to fit the requirements. They are posted when you try to upload and I don't remember the size. Can you post the other side of the sheet. Also, when was it built?

Man, that is one loaded convert!! I can't find that code anywhere either. At first I thought maybe something to do with speedometer warning but now I think maybe it's just a code to signify a change on the order? There is no charge, so it doesn't seem to be anything that actually got put on the car. Keep us updated...

Could be that ultra rare coin alert that lets you know when coins fell behind the seat in the passenger seats

Txbobcat, LOL. It could be overweight passenger alert also. You are a mess!!

I think the code inidicates a change to the order from when it was initially ordered. It may have initially been order with out the hd battery which is right above it or something may have been deleted from the original order. Without the original owner/dealer paperwork it is no telling what transpired.

Jack There is no other side to the invoice that PHS sent me but there is a date shipped at the bottom of 2-25-71 same as the excution date. 455conv I thought why would you have all those options and not the Judge package. Sorry about the large pic still trying to figuring out how to load pics.

JOHNNYGOAT,

Not the side but the right hand side of the invoice. It only shows the left side of the invoice.

All that and no Safe-T-Track. The tire store must have loved that car.

Chiefpontiac has a 71 convert with a ton of options also. Must have been the year to load em up.

uforacing I thought that was kind of weird too because the car does not have a posi but I thought maybe somebody removed it. I also thought all 455HO motors came standard with a posi at no extra cost.

The only thing required with the 455HO (not in the GTO) was dual exhaust. Nothing else was required. Dual exhaust was standard on the GTO so it was not a required option. 3 speed was standard too. Ya, gotta pay fer all dem optins.

Still no idea from anyone what the change code means. Well, at least anyone with a GOOD idea what it means.
