I see some old Pontiacs on the NHRA site:

I've been an admirer of Mickey for what I think of as a long time- since about 1959. But I was recently reading Hot Rod Magazine coverage of the 1953 Bonneville Nationals, where he set a record in Competition Coupe class- two-way average of about 195 MPH, with a pair of unblown flatheads on ~25% nitro. But what grabbed my attention was the fact that he was referred to as an "old timer" at racing- in 1953!!!

It's always good to read and see pictures of Mickey Thompson and his cars. It seems those times would have been a fun & exciting era to be a young man drag racing. A little before my time.

Jack Gifford (in this thread) and Steve Barcak have the hemi heads on their engines and running them.

Jack has had his at Norwalk.

But if asking if any that Mickey owned, I don't know.

I bought my hemi heads directly from Mickey back in '85, along with the M/T aluminum block.
Steve's hemi was originally sold by Mickey as a complete engine, including the Pontiac-back-door-sourced special iron block with extra meat to allow milling for the hemi pushrods. Steve bought it from Dave Stoll (anybody else remember the Tucker/Stoll blown roadster?), but I don't know if Dave was the original buyer of it from Mickey.
