Default Power Sunroofs CODES

Since the other thread was bogged down with "drama", I've taken the liberty to start a new thread and provide those with interest and questions concerning the sunroof as an option on the firebird.
Note that there are three(3) sunroof UPC codes:

CA1 - Electric sunroof

CF1 - manual sunroof (Vinyl)

C03 - manual sunroof (steel)

Note chart "B" 1973 Firebird lists the sunroof at the top of the options list as:

RPO option CF7

Well kids.....there you have it.
Keep your sticks on the ice and head out of the posterior.

Merry Christmas everyone!

I doubt anyone has a PHS with the roof option on it. I believe they were all installed after the vehicle ran thru production.

Sunroofs look really cool on the 70-73 cars.

Just as an FYI on how "the other guys" did it: Mopars used code H51 for the ASC sunroof and it was on the broadcast sheet and the stamped, metal fender tag.

Steve you make a very good point.
From my past experience, the PHS typically doesn't disclose ALL information, unlike a "broadcast sheet" or "build sheet".
Happy that I could offer the information for the folks who would otherwise never know.

On your old red car was the sunroof code on the PHS or the build sheet or ? I have never seen a PHS with one. I will agree that for instance on a 70 Ta you will not get the transmission info on the PHS but I've heard it's on the build sheet however I know there would be no price difference. In the case of the a sunroof there would be a price difference. I just think its strange that a option that costs money would not be on the PHS if it was a factory option.

Thanks Larry, just saved these to my folder on the car. Hopefully I'll have a copy of the PHS today, will give you a call after I get it. Thanks, Chris.

Never say never! that's very true, you never know. I just think it's very unlikely. It's possible that it could be on a PHS (My SSJ has "Hurst Option" on it) but only because of the circumstance. Chris, (THE BOSS) is running a PHS on his car, maybe that will have it.

I highly doubt that it will, my guess would be the sunroof was done when all of the other modifications were done to the car, but I've been wrong before.

I doubt the PHS will show it either Chris.
I never came across the build sheet on the red car either.

I was never in a position to verify the validity of the RPO sunroof option on the f-body until a few months ago when Russell Wells (aka *69goat) came by the house with the massive binder of literature aquired from a retired Pontiac service tech.
Matter of fact, it was by coincidence that I stumbled across the info to begin with, as I wasn't trying to find anything in particular when Russell and I glanced through it. He basically thought it was cool, as did I, to have factory codes and illustrations of the GTO and Trans am.
So when the original thread from Chris "The Boss" asking about sunroof options concerning the firebird, I was in the position to validate the claims............. and silence the critics.

What other tidbits are in that treasure trove?

Is this a single year or multi year data/bulletins?

Agreed - features that appear on build sheets but not PHS invoices are things that are "no cost". A sunroof would be extra cost as it wasn't standard with any trim package, so if it was factory installed it would be on the PHS invoice.

The code is interesting info. It certainly suggests that there was at least consideration to it being a factory option at some point in the development process. That doesn't always mean it happened, though (ref. RA IV Formulas, SD455 Grand Ams, etc.).
