Well, that's just really too bad. I was hoping that one day he would actually listen for a few minutes and get that car running where it should be. Probably sold for half of what he spent throwing parts at it.

There is allot of knowledge to be gained on these forums. That is the main reason I forced myself to learn to use enough features to get around on here. I have over 40 years of experience working with Pontiac's but I learn something new or something old I just didn't know almost every week on here. I have been particularly impressed with the vast carburetor knowledge by several members. When someone does ask for help or advise though, the poster needs to listen and possibly try the ideas offered, not spend the entire thread arguing why the people trying to help them are wrong. Most of us are probably like me, offering some help, killing some time.

x2.

I've learned more in the last ten years here than my previous 40 years in the hobby.

x3 plenty of myths uncovered and some great out of the box ideas.

I talked with Rich on the phone once... I dont know if he didnt trust my sincerity or was just wanting to hear something contradictory to others suggestions.
Hopefully he didnt sell and he'll come to his senses and use the advise we have all passed along. We dont need fewer Pontiacers.

On a side note, I quickly learned when I became a field instructor there are some that can only learn the hard way and some that get so set in their ways they become incapable of learning.

Bman had an intake for sale in the classifieds. Rich posted in bman's thread that his intake was junk and that Rich has thrown the same intake in the garbage.

Must've been because he (Rich) couldn't get his "race car" out of the mid 13s with the factory intake.... despite others running them down well into the 11s.

If I knew 37 years ago what what I know now, including what I have learned here, I would have been running easy 12's in high school with all OEM parts and a torque converter & gear set. Oh we'll, it's still been a fun ride working on my Pontiac's myself, learning the through personal experience, the slow way!
