You might want to post a pic or two more of your drive side. But the one you did post looks good to me.

Looks inconsistent to me. Are you putting some resistance on the ring gear while turning the pinion? Some teeth look good, but some look a little deep on the pinion. Hard to tell. Also, what is the backlash at this point?

Looks good from where I'm sitting (drive side) on the two teeth at the top of the pic. The others look like they weren't loaded hard enough during the test. We look closely at having a "comet" shape and "tail" uniform and coming to a point. It's also same distance from the outside edge of the tooth for the entire distance.

You may get it to spread out a tad more but it's centered toward the toe like it should be.......Cliff

Unfortunately I don't have any more pictures. I thought I had everything good but after putting rear back in the car I have a whine on deceleration at around 50-55. Backlash was at .008. I used a crush sleeve eliminator kit and had the pinion pre load at 20 inch #. Now I'm thinking the pre load may be to tight. All bearings are new and rear is a 7.5

It's unlikely the whine is caused by the preload. It's coast pattern related more than likely.

If car has polyurethane bushings in rear suspension you can get some noise from rear seen it many times
