Parts Master CD For Sale Question
I am interested in ordering two of the Parts Masters guides on CD:
RPL 9569 and RPL 9570. Sales info says Windows XP and some with NTwill not work as of sometime in 03. Is this still the case? If they have been upgraded, will it now work with VISTA? I have XP and Vista. Thanks. Jeff |

The Parts Master software does not run on XP. We haven't gotten a chance to test it on Vista yet.
However, the Parts Master CD's and the Parts Master feature that PJ subscribing members can access through this forums use the same database. So at this point I'd recommend subscribing to the Pontiac Journal and using that web-based Parts Master software. I'd only recommend the CDs if you want to use it on a computer that doesn't have an internet connection (ie. if you are carrying a laptop around a swap meet). Steve |

Steve:
Thanks for the quick reply. I am a member of the Journal also but (correct) I wanted this on a laptop. So it will work on Windows 98 I take it? I have an OLD laptop I could use just for this. |

By Dual Boot, Stuckinda60s means you can setup a computer to boot into two different operating systems. There are a bunch of different ways you can set it up but basically the idea is when you turn the laptop on, you would be able to choose which OS to start, for instance, Windows Vista or Windows 98.
You'd probably use the newer OS for most of your tasks but when your walking the swapmeets, you could restart and load Win98 to use the Parts Master Database. Steve |
