Default NHRA Be a member-Be a winner

NHRA has a program that rewards members for winning races. They have a list of sponsor prizes that are awarded to racers each month in National Dragster.
Over the years, I have been lucky enough to win two gift certificates. One for a trailer security system, and one for shock absorbers- both nice prizes and easing the high price of NHRA mebership.

Yesterday in the mail I got another award? A guest appearance on WFO Radio with Joe Castello. ?????

What did I win?? -- and what have you others won?
Thanks, Bill

D@mn Bill, I've never won anything. Quit hogging all the prizes.

Not too sure that's a very good prize though. Can't do much with that. Lol!

Bill,

Back in the late 90's when I was running NMCA / NSCA, they started providing a few gift certificates in place of real dollars. One year I won a certificate from an oil pan company that didn't make oil pans for a Pontiac!

Nice job on winning, even a radio spot beats loosing.

Wow! Bill must have put in a good word for me and pulled a few strings. I recieved a $100 gift certificate to AFR today. I'm not sure what to do with it but it's good towards the purchase of a set of AFR heads or plastic manifold. Wonder if I can make them fit a Pontiac? Lol!

"A guest appearance on WFO Radio with Joe Castello. ?????"

Joe is an old school Pontiac racer from back in the day down here in South Florida. I'm sure he will enjoy talking with a fellow Pontiacer.

Dave, thanks for the heads up on WFO. I have done some searching and found that Joe has a 10 second Firebird. I wasn't sure I'd even call for the interview, but he sounds like a cool guy. Could be fun,(unless it's cheby powered!!)
Probird, you know I made that certificate happen - ---- - a redlight next time we meet would more than work as payback.
I'll keep you all posted if I get on the air!! - Bill -

Well, Joe Castello of WFO interviewed me yesterday. The program aired tonight at 6PM eastern, but is available all week as the current program. I believe it is called NHRA Nitro. My segment is at minute 120-133. I was more nervous than being in the finals of a race.
He called me and wanted to "record" right away. I bought 5 minutes while I changed to a quieter phone, and he kind of caught me by surprise on a couple of questions.
It was fun, if you ever get the chance - go for it. Bill-

Mr. Bill, the interview sounded just like you - calm, controlled and informative. No questions about softball though??

See you at the next meeting!
