Some more info: Jack, I don't know the CC on the intake runners. They were installed as purchased from Kauffman. We did check out the flow - they said 380, we got 382.

Pon Jon - This car has been in the MN area for some time. It used to have a BBC in it, but Lee Stagni rescued it and converted it back to it's roots. You may have seen the car at Norwalk several years ago. Lee's wife was driving (mid 10's @ the time) It is red with some fancy paint. It is tubbed and certified for 8's, I believe.

Slowbird -I think the headers are stepped 2 1/8 to 2 1/4. These were on the 474 that was in it and do leave something on the table.

All the MN/WI guys - the weather isn't getting us on the track any too early this year. Grove Creek is down for all new track surface this spring-scheduled to open Memorial Day. I think I'll get too restless and get over to the Rock.

Mike Chell - good luck in FL and stop up and see us shut-in's sometime!! - Bill -

That's pretty much my engine. He should be running 9.70 - 9.50 with big mph. Those heads don't quit at 7000 either. Mine is still pulling at 7500 (my shift point).

4.30 gear, 32.0'' x 14.5'' x 15''W Hoosier tire. I think 1/8 mi. ET was about 5.20.

Those are great numbers, I wonder if my CV1's will match them with a little more flow and a little more cam. It will be a good comparison. Im looking to make a little closer to 900+ HP, maybe 950, non the less.... very impressive.

Cool, Bill, our #'s are quite close. Mine put out 800.9 HP at 700RPM and 668 ft lbs at 5504 RPM's. My heads flowed 381 @ 700. Used Dougs round port 2" headers on the dyno and a 1050 Dominator for the pulls. How much does the car weigh?

Danny uses AutoZones head porting services exclusively.

I think your right. Actually believe it was more like 6.18. Haven't been out at all this year. Have to dig up time slips to verify.

378 cfm as quoted by Kauffman, I never verified that on a flow bench. These were the first set of heads with standard pushrod location and that large of a port that Kauffman did. All hand porting. Very nice work. Headers are 2" X 32" primary tubes, 3.5" collectors (too small). I am building another set with 2 1/8" - 2 1/4" stepped into 4" collectors.

I only use them because they are open on Sundays Jack....

Ron, the heads are wide ports from Butler redone by Houston Engine and Balancing. It blew me away that they flowed more than my Brodix on the same bench....

The cam is a Comp Cam # 4214/4254 R110 with the 4-7 lobe swap. The air was about 90% humidity and we never got the timing below 34*, so there may be some more left in there. It's going into the white '65 this month, so time will tell.

Jack, any guesses on what this "Heavy" car will run?

I think 9.00-9.20's when the tune up is on and the air is acceptable.
