Default Transmission change?

I have a 1970 LeMans with a 455 engine, 350 Turbo automatic trans and an open drive (no posi). The trans is giving me problems, and I’m considering a new transmission. I’m leaning towards a 700R. Can anyone give me their opinion on what would be a good transmission for my setup? I’d appreciate any insights.

THe 700r4's a good choice, Its a lot stonger than a 200 series and short of adapting the bolt pattern, and there are plates for this, it shouldn't be a bad install.

The 700 is slightly longer than the TH350...you will need to shorten your driveshaft and fab or buy a bracket to hold the TV cable for the 700R4.....see if something is already made for your conversion.
