I love seeing how the vacuum hoses are connected. Just like I said and just like many didn't agree.

Last time I saw one of those in the box at Jeffs parts attic years ago. With that green thermo I still remember. Thanks for sharing Scott!

I guess the lid is a separate 'Part" ? But - The cleaner element is included?

I don't know about that particular air cleaner but in general it was the opposite, you had to buy the whole assembly and couldn't just buy the lid.

There was a lid in the box when I got it but the box had been opened and the lid was obviously used.

No studs Mike. My 72 HO GTO doesn't have them either.

Can someone explain the "studs" thing?
I never noticed any "studs" on my Firebirds' air cleaner.
Thanks!

No studs on this one because it's a Service Replacement.
Also has the extra flat spot in the bowl area, like the '76 and later production air cleaners (non Ram Air).
...and has the '78 and later style scalloped brackets that hold the thermacs on as well.

I had one of these, in the box, and mine was the same way.
(the '71 and '72 Trans Am dual snorkel Serv. Repl. air cleaners used the same bowl section, if they were made after 1976; have one of those too)

Thanks for the link.

OK - I get it now. I have not got into my Formula project yet to know too much detail, other than the basic PHS sheets - But the air cleaner definitely has the studs, and a black lid. Still has the original GM service sticker on it and a dirty filter still in it! LOL.
