Default is anyone using Howards 91417 solid roller lifters?

I'm thinking of using them on a hydraulic roller cam. According to this site they are made by Morels. At Jegs or Summit they are $380 or so for a set of 16 which is a pretty good savings compared to Comp or Lunati or other name brands. The seat and open pressures on the combination I will be using is 160/400.

I clicked around on here re Howards lifters but found no comments re their 91417 solid rollers.

Do they have High-Pressure Pin oiling ?

A hole directly from the oil band to the needle bearings. Delivers more oil to critical, high load areas for greatly improved cycle life.

"First and foremost, everyone agrees that moving to a modern, pressurized oil lifter is the most important improvement you can make to a traditional valvetrain. The typical high-performance racing lifter of the past relied entirely on splash oiling to stay lubricated, meaning that the lifter and roller could be starved at idle or during continuous low-rpm cruising. This is fine in the high-maintenance, high-rpm world of drag racing, but falters in street applications. Comp, Jesel, and Isky all offer their most popular applications with pressurized oiling for maximum durability from a needle-roller package on the street."

I don’t think those Howard’s have pin oiling but Butler sells some low cost lifters with that feature under the Doug Herbert brand.
I don’t know who makes these but by the looks of them it could be Morel.

Thanks for that TCSGTO. I don't have a response from Howards yet but in their catalog, which can be downloaded from their website, I found three solid roller lifters for Pontiacs; #91450 Streetmax which is listed as being designed for street stop and go use, #41417 Sportmax, and #91457 Sportmax with direct lube pin oilers. #91417s are $370 or so at Jegs or Summit. #91457s are $450 or so. I can find no price or listings for sale for the #41450 lifters.

Just a note here.... a lot of the Herbert roller lifters are indeed Morel. Whatever you buy, make sure they have the Pin Oiling(HIPPO)

I have have ran them in the 91457 version with pin oiling. FWIW, They are not near as nice as Crower’s SR lifters. Not crazy about the riveted link bars, and they need restricted pushrods or restricted galley’s.

I will add to the list of the same lifters with different names on them: Howard’s, Herbert, Bullet, and Lunati all use (or used) Morel SR lifters.

IRC, the 91450 Howard’s had bodies similar to the Morel hyd roller lifter bodies with the .7” roller, mechanical guts on the inside instead of hyd. I don’t think they are available anymore. But, I really do not see why anyone would want to use them, the 750” roller lifter’s with the pin oiling are heavier duty. Probably why they aren’t offered anymore, most everyone wants the .750” roller.

Thank you all for the posts. The only reason I'm considering solid rollers is because I'm told the 400 lbs. open pressure the 614 springs will give on the hydraulic roller I had the heads built for is too much for hydraulic lifters. So I thought "ok, so I'll turn this into a hybrid deal and put solid lifters on there". I do not want to take these heads apart I've got a fortune in them already. It turns out the cam I had the heads built for will not give me the .070-.0100 clearance above coil bind I need anyway so I will just keep looking at cams and decide on one with a little less valve lift hence more clearance above coil bind. Several of you have suggested cam lobes. I was just exploring the hybrid thing here and for several reasons it looks like I don't want to do that based upon posts in this thread and what some of you have said in private messages now.
