Default Removing main cap - Screws up Rear Seal?

Couple of questions as you can see...

Motor is still on stand getting assembled.

If I remove my Rear Main Cap and then reinstall it, will it screw up the sealing of the Graphtite seal?

I understand I will need to clean and run the 1/16th bead and reseal with the Permatex Grey, as suggested

No problem.
Not sure why you said Permatex "gray". My old Pontiac shop manual says to use non-hardening Permatex#2, which is dark brown.

Jack - I believe that the instructions that come with that seal specify gray silicone sealer. I just installed one a couple of weeks ago. And I did have to remove the cap, I just squirted in some additional sealer and put the cap right back on.
