Default Modifying an early intake to fit late throttle bracket?

So I'm getting closer to firing up the 400 in my 81 Trans Am. The question is... I removed the 77 intake and installed a 70, because I hate the look of the EGR bosses there. They don't need to be some why have them there. So I have a 77 throttle bracket with the kickdown bracket as well. The 70 has one hole to mount the bracket which is slightly more rearward than the 77 intake, but there is a "mountain" there which looks like it could be drilled and tapped to an extent. How much meat is there? Can I drill it 13/64 and tap it for a 1/4" bolt? I would rather not drill into the plenum. So the engine is a 73, intake a 70, 78 throttle bracket. The idea is to get the mounts in as close a spot as possible as the 77 intake I had on there. Or anybody got a different idea?

Wouldn't it be a million times easier to modify the throttle bracket? You could splice a 1970 (could even be off a 2 bbl) lower to a 78 upper. Or use one of the throttle brackets that were carb mounted? Dunno, thinking out loud is all.

I have a 70 intake that I had to mount a 1987 throttle, cruise and kick down cable bracket to. Yes there is only 1 bolt hole but I did drill and tap that “mountain “ boss for a 1/4” bolt so. I could us 2 mounting hold downs. Plenty of extra meat there.

Too late now, but a '72 intake would have fit the bill. If it were me, I'd fashion a bracket out of a piece of aluminum flat stock.

I used my 78 Bracket on a 72 HO intake. It only used one bolt instead of two but worked fine.

You didn't post pictures of the intake or the stock linkage and since I don't own the intake mentioned or the car I couldn't envision what you could do, but I have modified late seventies brackets to work with an early sixties Offy intake and GTO cable linkage on GTOs. You might be able to do something like that.
