Default 1974 GTO Shifter ball

This shifter knob was on my 1974 GTO when I got it. can anyone tell me if this is an original shifter knob for the car? Thanksfor your help.

Mine did not look like that. It was just a round white ball with no shift pattern in the center. It had never been messed with that I was aware of.

Mr Gasket unit, 1990s if I recall correctly.
