Well, no. Although you can use a nicely ported aluminum head like an artist would look at and copy a great looking model when sculpting. Most aluminum heads have the port walls moved out and grinding an iron head to match would have you into the coolant. The old H.O. book gave specifics on what to remove, and you can also do a search here and find threads that lay out what needs to be done.

If your talking about a iron RA4 head, then the answer is to a fair extent, yes can replicate the out of the box Edelbrock Intake port.
If you mean porting a iron Dport head to even somewhat match the Edelbrock D port head the answer is no. Now if your more talking about matching flow numbers between the two heads, then yes that can certainly be done, but the ports will not look the same physically. In all of this posted hear about iron heads I am talking about the high comp heads from 68 to 70 with there shallow chambers which make for deeper valve bowls and taller short turns.

Are you saying there is enough material to make the bowl height and width in an iron head the same the same dimension as an Edelbrock head?

Starting at post 81? post 93 on page 19 is where the porting Info starts I think? Both the Engine design and blueprint and Heavy duty parts books were uploaded by Hester1977 and took quite a bit of time, Thanks Hester and of course H-O Racing, it may take opening each attachment to view But It Is All There.

PERFORMER D-PORT CYLINDER HEADS INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
https://edelbrock-instructions-v1.s3...rock/61575.pdf Like their other Pontiac cylinder heads they state the Fel-Pro #1233 gasket. However there are some caveats mentioned. Development information for those interested: https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/hp...ylinder-heads/ .

Well the RAIV heads check in at around 183 CCs with there Tulip valve, the E heads at 204 CCs with there nail head valve, so the E heads process 10% greater port area.
Reworking RAIV heads the right way to equal the out of the box intake flow of the E heads will add 6 to 8 more CCs to them. The problem with the RAIV heads at high flow rates is how much more the push rod bulge sticks into the port as compared to the D port heads due to the thicker push rods they used. It’s very necessary to grind away the bulge and sleeve the push rod tube to negate the need to raise the port roof up to what today is called “ high port” dimensions since flow numbers over 300 cfm can be had out of these iron factory performance heads. Yes, Edelbrock’s own site states that the port volume is 204 CCs.
