Question gas tank coatings?

I have a new galvanized tank and stainless tank that I would like to keep fresh looking as long as possible. What are the preferred methods to keep the tanks nice looking? Clear coat, wax, other? thanks in advance.

I used a clear from POR15, been on the tank for 5 years now and still looks great, can either brush it on, or thin and spray. It's fairly thick and it flows out nicely so brush works really good.

Never really like the use of clear coats as you can always tell. Unless you are going to use your car as a daily driver, a yearly coat of wax will usually do the trick. Simply wipe the new tank with a solvent to take off any of the greasy coating that is usually left. Then apply a liberal coat of wax, just like you would on the exterior of your car. As soona as it dries, wipe it off thoroughly. This will keep it looking original and like the day it rolled off the truck.

I'd try wiping it down with Gibbs rust inhibitor.

The galvanized one you should clear coat & the stainless one you can use a product called sharkhide it works very good & you only need to do it once a year.
