Default 29268WF Carb Questions

Hi,

I have 2 of these carb's, one i bought from ebay back in 2000 and one i just got off my 428. ( the 428 has the date code 4 letter on it and as well as the metal tab on front of it )

I posted pics showing codes in case any of you had comments on them.

Just wanted to ask if someone could tell me what the 4 ports (vac) are for .

I have an automatic car so know the modulator needs manifold vacuum source, which comes from below the carb plates. I do run ported distributor advance so I'd like continue that. I assume plug the rest.

1 - I realize the rear brake booster is going to rear of carb.
2 - bottom port i'm pointing to
3 - upper port on front of carb
4 - Side of carb near choke has long tube coming out

My ebay carb is missing the front plate and the "little arm" that helps with going up in elevation. I wanted to source that.

Lastly , what are the value of these carb's. Last I checked was $500 US?

Default I know what some of the ports are for.....

Vacuum modulator line for trans goes to the port on the upper front left with the red cap on it in your pic.

Vacuum advance line to distributor goes to the lower right port on the front that you are pointing at in the other pic.

Brake booster and/or AC vacuum controls go the the rear vacuum 'tree'.

I don't recall - at the moment - whether the one sticking out the side by the choke linkage is manifold vacuum or ported.

I do know it was originally used for that thermal vacuum switch in the left side of the intake water crossover that had about six vacuum hoses in a big rubber plug going to it.

Good luck!

1969 did not use the side port on throttle plate, it is a late 67 to 68 feature, so itīs been added to your carb by some remanufacturing business.

Also. 1969 A/T uses only 3 ports on the TVS on coolant crossover. M (manifold), C (carburetor) and D (distributor).

Thanks. I actually have that TVS available to use. If I want. The carb with the thing out the side would of been from the 428, it's date code so perhaps the grand prix it cam on had that big thermal vacuum switch :

BUILT “ 334 DAY” “November 29th 1968 is the 334th day of 1968 and is on a Friday

Regardless, thanks everyone! Have a great day!

I'll do a little ebay search for value of these.

Don't rely on eBay for pricing. The majority of carburetors are overpriced mutilated junk! It all depends on how original and complete the setup is......vacuum fittings, throttle arms, bolts, etc. JMTC

Ok... Looks like I'd have to test the market myself up in Canada here. Thanks.
