Will this work on a 65-power drum brake car? I want to keep my current set up but convert my single master cylinder to duel master cylinder.

I would think so but you will have to change over your brake lines which you know.

I have a complete stock power break system including drums on all 4 corners with the single reservoir master cylinder. I understand that in addition to the duel master cylinder I would need a proportioning valve (67 style), necessary hard lines, fittings, blocks/brackets to make it work.
I thought there were (2) two types of master cylinders. I need a 7/8” bore master cylinder to get the same pedal pressure and a shallow hole for the push rod. If the cylinder has a deep hole it is for manual brakes and if it has a shallow hole it is for power breaks. Looking to confirm that I’m wrong and in 67 one master cylinder worked on both manual and power breaks.
Thanks,
Bob

Donziboy
You are correct one master was used in manual and power drum brake systems.
Why don’t you just get one from our host? This one is the correct one for somebody doing a correct stock restoration or did one and did not have the right master master with bleeders.

According to research the manual drum brake mc did not use bleeder screws and was part number 5452310. The power drum and power disc mc used bleeder screws because of the angle of the mc. Standard drum brake mc were mounted perpendicular to firewall and did not need/use the bleeder screws. Also the power drum mc were different than the power disc mc internally according to 67 service manual.

I may be interested in your master cylinder as it would be correct for my car. What is wrong with it that requires a rebuild? What is the date code?

Thanks.

Purchased the MC for my car but never used it. The piston moves freely. I got the rebuild kit from our host. Will have to check and see what the date code is.

My car is a November 66 build date. I am not worried about the date code matching I just want the correct master cylinder. Would you take $75 and include the shipping to 32934? I think you can get it in a USPS flat rate box for around $15 (if they have not gone up recently). That will get it anywhere in the continental US.
