Default 1971 T-37 455 HO video

Just saw this video on YouTube, a 1971 T-37 with a 455 HO engine. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jMSt3xHLMGs

Cool car. 1 of only 2 455 HO models with a hood tach.

LS5 - 455 HO was a $358.09 option with the hood tach being $63.19 if accurate. The AM/FM Radio cost more than power steering.

I would have considered power brakes when putting that one back together.

Love it!
Have never met Kevin G, but we share a similar passion, 71 HO 233's.

On the 1 of 2 (HO 233's) w factory hood tach, believe, that's a number pulled from cars regustered on Dan Jenson's longtime registry. On Dan's list, my Coupe is the only Coupe, so far noted, with that option. Personally prefer the indash tach & rally gauges of my HO GT-37, though the thick rim Formula wheels can partially block the view of the tach & gauges.

Nice video featuring a rare muscle car.

Too bad he didn’t open up the throttle to showcase the performance a bit.

Thanks for sharing that Stuart I enjoyed it.

That is a nicely done video and it’s beautiful car.

He mentions that no 71 455 H.O. Lemans’ came with hood insulation. Maybe not on a T-37 but I’ve seen an original 71 H.O. Lemans Sport with it..

Don't know Dan Jensen but he is a member under "Dan Jensen" but no posts since early 2000's.

The 455 HO link I have no longer works and the http://www.gt-37.org/ works but information is no longer populating.

Try this old link with his email:

Another old link where this is discussed:

Kevin is a good friend of ours and when the T-37 was up here in 2004 (MI) for Dan to work on, Kevin wanted us to race it at the Pure Stock Drags to see what it could do. I was fortunate to be able to race it for him (he couldn't be here to race it himself). My best time was 13.101 at 104.87 mph and it had more potential in it some minor suspension work. It could easily run 12.90's with said tweaks.

The T-37 weighed 3838 lbs. with me in it and had a calculated RWHP of 345 hp.
