Default 1971 lemans sport convertible data tag help please

I have not been able to find what im looking for on a data tag search, and going thru my phs paper work for the recent 1971 t37 i received from PHS, so i come to the experts.
I purchased a 1971 lemans convertible yesterday. it is badged a lemans sport, but has no gills, but has been repainted. I see what i think is silver underneath some of the maroon/red repaint.
has the nice interior and console automatic with 350/350 i believe it to be a sport.
but what color was it? i dont see a reference that helps me figure it out.
Car has been off the road since the 90s. I hope to do some mechanical and just drive it a bit, before i decide to part ways or go thru it. I have been looking for a rag top and this is about as nice as i have seen without spending $30k
pics coming in next post thanks as always!

Nordic Silver /Black top.
Trim 262 is Ivory bucket seat interior. same interior as '71 GTO, other than no GTO emblems on the door panels.
All '70-72 LeMans converts were LeMans Sports
All '71 & 72 LeMans Sport converts were built out of Pontiac MI home plant.

Looks like 269 for the interior color OPH. Black.

What's strange is the '8' for top color.

and the 8 instead of B for BDY in the upper right corner

You are correct, black seat interior, for some reason I quickly glanced at the TR #, thought I read 262.
Will look through my 71 records late tonight, on the "8"

The 'B' in BDY looks like it could be a B with a dent in the straight part that makes it look like an '8'? (mysticmissile, maybe look closer at the cowl tag itself?)

The other '8' or 'B' almost looks like it's double stamped? B over 8?

I see what you’re saying about the 8/B. I’ll look it over next time out there.
Thank you for
Confirming the Nordic silver. The 13 is the silver paint code? That’s a nice looking color

some mods done during the last repaint. I notice it's got "Lemans and sport" badge incorrectly on the driver's fender and the right side of the car is correct with the badge and emblem on the rear quarter. Both sides should be on the rear quarters for 71. 72 didn't use "sport" emblems on the body and a plain non T-41 72 Lemans fender would have the Lemans emblem on the fender there and not in the quarter. I'd guess that they used a 72 Lemans fender on the left side and added the "sport" emblem under it, but then on the right side, deleted the emblem holes because it was already on the rear quarter. And deleted the rear quarter emblem holes on the left side? That's an interesting choice on the non-symmetry. both of those fenders should have the shark gilles for 71. just some strange stuff there including the body moldings. those aren't original Pontiac body moldings. Something aftermarket, but they're pretty straight if they were stick on stuff - how are they attached?

They were stick on. I removed them yesterday and most
Of the paint around and under them came off with them. They were pretty straight. Looks like drivers fender had atleast on square hole for factory belt trim
Is the trunk badging correct
For 71?
Good news motors not stuck, going to flush the tank replace what’s required and see what happens

Looking for a lower valence and radiator support hood latch assembly if anyone is in New England area thanks

you don't have a picture on the trunk for me to say!

it should have "Lemans" in the center under the lock cylinder, and a small "Sport" on the right side corner.

There is obviously a goof on the 8 where the upper color is, most likely was supposed to be a "B"..

I thought perhaps the car was a custom order color top, ie from a color offered by Buick or Olds (Sandalwood, Dark Green) for their "A" ragtops but the number/letter would be wrong.

Chevy, like Pontiac only offers white or black in 1971

The "B" in the "BDY looks kinda sketch too...

I examined my own trim tag this morning. Noted the "B" is identical to yours.

Much later build, second week of June, 1971.

edit: closer examination shows 4 different colors for tops offered for Pontiac

Nice ‘71 LeMans Sport convertible! For the record, the badging on the driver’s fender, including the Sport script, is correct for 1972 (on a chrome bumper Sport; an endura nose car has a vent there of course). Your ‘71 LeMans Sport should have a series of vertical gills there on both front fenders and the LeMans Sport emblems on both quarters.

When I restored my former ‘71 LeMans Sport hardtop, which coincidentally was originally Nordic silver but had been repainted blue by a PO, I couldn’t find actual ‘71 LeMans fenders with the fake gills. So….I had smooth fenders with no gills or emblems at all. I think I found ‘72 fenders in salvage yards and filled the holes for the emblems those cars had there.
