#17054909 is a Delco/Rochester Service Replacement for A-ASP-F 1972 HIGH PERF. M/T&A/T 455 and uses #71 pri. jets, #43 pri. rods, sec. rods stamped CR #7045923, airvalve spring windup 7/16 of a turn, power piston spring #7029922.

Hope this helps some.....

#7042270 have #71 pri. jets, #45 pri. rods, sec. rods stamped CR #7045923, airvalve spring windup 7/16 of a turn, #7037305 power piston spring.
Main and idle airbleeds and idle tube orifice and idle channel restriction may differ from the 17054909?
I have not had the opportunity to dokument the "inner specs" on either of these 2 Q-jets (yet).
I guess both needs some attention regarding jetting for use with todays fuel, a test drive and a "tip-in" procedure will tell what´s needed.

Kenth, neither one of those carburetors work well with the stock jet/rod set-ups. Even with the main air bleed adj screw seated, they will show extremely lean at part throttle.

Todays fuel doesn't help the situation either, as it contains less BTU's and we end up having to add a bit more of it anyhow........Cliff
