George,it sounds easy but auto cars want a break over stick shift, single quad want a break over 2 carbs, small tire want a break over big tire. That is just N/A,get power adders involved it will just double. You have been on this board long enough to know you cant get 8 guys to agree on anything.Tom

Oh I agree with you completely......the race will never happen too many whiners, so the least rules the better. Line them up and let’s GO!

Rules:
1. Pontiac power
2. Door car (no rails)
3. Heads up
4. No b1tching

Everything else goes. Weigh 4000 or 1500, N/A or P/A, 326 CID or 600+CID. who cares. Run your car, not your mouth.

I’ll sponsor the race at least up to $200 out of my own pocket just to see it happen, maybe more if 16+ car count.

Lol, 10 people, $200 each ought to cover the cost of the race, no?

I’d love to give more if I had it. I don’t run a business, or really even have a dog in this fight. I just would like to see a good race.

How much you puttin up Tom?

I would not put up a penny for a power adder race. The reason I put up $1000 to $1500 for like 7 years to watch a HU/NA race almost 3000 miles from home.Ask Kinsler or Pickett how much they took home a couple times.Slowbird ran it also. You had to have a 9.20 car to be in the hunt.Usually took a high 8 run to win it.The MR1 guys teamed up the last few years and did it on their own last year with no one signing up.There are just not enough cars avail to race a N/A HP CI to weight race. The big motor cars have to weigh too much, the sweet spot is 460-500 CI.I was good while it lasted.Tom

PA vs NA COULD be 1000 lbs difference at same power to weight! (or worse).

Best to just have 2 separate classes.

You COULD have a final where na runs against pa, but it would require a handicap.

HANDICAP????? Would have to be based on avg et of both cars in final ! (Avg they ran that day prior to final). ONLY IF final ended with NA vs PA.

Seems to me NA has the advantage & PA should get the handicap; start at 29 sec;

I'm only talking FINAL ROUND. And then ONLY IF FINAL ends up PA vs NA. OTHERWISE NO HANDICAP!!!
PA vs PA NO handicap.
NA vs NA NO handicap

What I proposed (see post 5^^^^^^) is actually two separate classes... NA and PA.
With ONLY final being run with a handicap based on average ET's both cars ran previously .

I proposed something similar to this of FB...

*1/4-mile contest

*Must be Pontiac powered

*Any size or type of tire is acceptable

*N/A- 2800lbs

*P/A- 3300lbs

*.400 protree

*First to the stripe wins

*Cars MUST pass across the scales after each pass and be at or above their respective weighs for the pass to count.
