Default Passing of Rick Smith (RicksGTO)

Very sad to pass on the news that Rick Smith (RicksGTO) passed away yesterday. This was quite a shock to me as I didn't even know he was ill. He was ~60 years old.

Rick was a super nice, helpful and knowledgeable guy as many know who have corresponded with him over his 20 years on this site. He had a thread on the 74-76 Firebird & TA TECH Forum on the ongoing resto of his '74 SD-455.

He was also a long-time member of the GTO Assn. of North Texas. It's been a tough year for our club as Rick is the third member to pass this year, following Larry Knebel and Bob Wyrick.

RIP, friend. He will be missed.

Never had an opportunity to meet him but enjoyed his posts on the PY Board.
RIP RICK. He was too young to pass.

Very sad. As others have said, too young. Does anyone know what kind of health problems he had?

Wow, this is pretty surreal. I was just reading his thread on his 74 SD project, and he was posting updates steadily. It's crazy how he was here one day, and gone the next.

Cancer sucks.

Absolute HORRIBLE news. Similar dealings here, sent Rick a few parts for his HO Formula, & conversed with him on few items for his SD.

Looked fwd to meeting Rick in person, maybe grabbing quick lunch @ Angelos's. Not going to happen

Prayers lifted up to Rick's family.
