Default Anybody know what this is?

I pulled some heads off of a previously rebuilt 68 YD 400 and found this In a cooling hole. I’ve never run across something like it. And I don’t want to hear about the 8vr pistons. Thanks

Did you see those piston's ? what to soon? That looks like an attempt at a home made restrictor or something there isnt anything i know of in the cooling system that could of migrated there.
Is there anything else squirrely going on with that engine tear down usually crazy things travel in multitudes

just one side ?

are the dowel pins in the block for the heads ? maybe a red neck work around for a lost pin
.

Lol, it is jus that one while and it seems like plastic. I dunno, just pulled it out, didn’t see anything weird. Any way to see block fill without taking the freeze plugs out?
Thanks
