Default M T 2 cyl Dragster More Info I Found

Looking through old magazines for info on that white top 62 Tempest at Winternationals. Found info on MTs 2 cylinder dragster. Article was in Petersen book on Pontiacs from 1963. The engine was a 4 cylinder cut. The block was a 4 bolt main article said.(I ve had 2 bbl and bbl blocks but no 4bolt mains.). 91 cubic inches.Head had (didnt say what head)1.92 intake,1.66 exhaust. The crank was done by Moldex Tool. Both pistons are at TDC at same time. The induction was a 2-71 Hilborn injected with GMC blower. It ran on 50/50 ally and nitro. Made 257 hp at 5500(shook dyno to much). Peak is 280 hp at 6500. 4 cyl peaks at 7000. Hope this info helps.

538177? No clue, I'm basing this off of the pics.
5381 and just a peek at the leading edge of a 7.

That was the standard head used on most 1961 and 1962 cars. I figured he would have used the 540306 SD heads, but maybe since it was supercharged he didn't need them.

years ago (back around 80 maybe 81-82) i bought a lot of early SD items from a family member of mickeys. it included a 421 SD engine out of one of the 13 swiss cheese cars, fuel injection setups, several sets of the SD heads, nos SD rods a bunch of other items and one of his 4 cylinder SD engines. this one ran a SD head, fuel injection and had a timing cover that had thompson cast into it. it also had DS part # on the block. was told he had a handfull of these 4 cylinder SD engines with various types of fuel delivery.

Something not well-known:
Although it's in a dragster chassis, landspeed racing was its only purpose. It did get the record in its class.

Trivia: I'm quite sure the 257 HP dyno session was on 25% nitro. Mickey almost never went over 25% back then.
