Hey now! At least we know the difference between save and save as, and how to connect a printer.

Update- I contacted Duplicolor via their web portal and asked if DE1616 is discontinued and this is the response:
“Thank you for taking the time to contact Dupli-Color. We are happy to hear from you. No, DE1616 is still a current product. Part DE1610 is on back order and is not currently available. Respectfully, Roger Product Support”

I have a couple of cans of 1616 I could spare if anyone is in dire need.

Weird, their response doesn't actually get to the bottom of why DE1616 is basically unobtainable right now.

One in particular I was asking about was the 5 Star Urethane primer that I haven't been able to get for over a year now. This is a primer that comes more from the industrial side of the paint world and does have a few ingredients in it that make it different from other automotive primers and has a different formulation that he developed for the auto industry. One of those ingredients (forget the name now) has been unavailable so he simply stopped production of that primer. He told me there is no ETA of when that particular line might be back up and running unfortunately. |

I checked on Amazon, you can buy one 12oz can for $19, or get a 6 pack for $70. They do have some in stock.

For people who are happy with Duplicolor DE1616, The NAPA system has 27 cans in stock in the US warehouse system. $10.95 a can. When gone, could be months to re-stock. Just a heads up.

So I painted an intake today with Duplicolor 1616 that I bought from Napa a couple of months ago. It is more bluish than the cap. Also, I used an old can of the 1616 on a valley pan and timing cover recently and the difference is quite noticeable in person. Some pics below:

Same problem here. Their reformulation is really different. I needed 4 cans to get 2 decent coats on ELarsons road race engine. 3 cans were newer stock. Can 4 was older I guess. The 4th can was much more silver. The new reformulated DE 1616 is a nicer color IMO. Coverage is lousy. 4 cans to paint an engine 2 light coats? Lots of waste. Really miss Plasticoat.
