In 1965 Pontiac did not offer the Ram Air exhaust manifolds. There was only the standard log manifolds. The Ram Air manifolds were offered starting in 1967. Those would fit your car.

What is the diff of the 65-67 repos and 68-72 repos for A bodies. With originals 67 had a flapper and I’m told 68 up did not?Tom

Not exactly sure of the differences in design for the different years ('64-'67 vs '68-'72), but I am almost 100% sure you can run '67 drivers-side standard or HO exhaust manifold (HO legacy part number 9777646) and a '68 passengers-side standard or HO manifold (HO legacy part number 9797072).

Not sure this helps. I don't have the legacy Pontiac part number for the standard log manifolds.

FYI,I just talked to Paul at RARE,his 68-72 RA manifolds will work fine on 64-67.There is a little more clearance on the 68-72s.Going the other way can work but tighter.Tom

Tom, did you perchance ask Paul about round port long branch manifolds? I’ve pretty much given up on them but you never know. . . .

Tom, This is true for D port but not for O port, correct? I thought O port exh manifolds in 64-67 require x member work or moving the motor back. Been waiting for RARE to resume production on their conversion manifolds for a while. Looking for a set of the first productions if anyone has any...

Looks like the supply is exhausted at the moment. LoL. Anyway I see the Parts Place has them, any first hand experience with theirs? Still looking though. Chris

This is the first time I was told that the 68 RAM AIR D-Port Cast Iron Manifolds had more clearance to the cross-member under the engine on the 64-67 A-Bodies vs the 67 Manifolds. Interesting.

I've heard the 68-72s hit the l.s. rear lower control arm mount. I was lucky enough to find a used set at the ames tri power nationals this past summer. All the vendors there this year were out and had waiting lists.
