Default Hood Bumpers at Rad Support

Need a little help... can anyone send me a picture of the nut on the rad support that the hood bumper screws into.
All I have is a round hole...no nut.
Not sure what to use to mount the bumpers.
Thanks,
John

Zavy, the nut is the adjustment lock for the post that screws into the core support to adjust the hood's gap. Sorry but I don't have a photo to show it.

It's essentially a 5/16-18 nut with a small flange. They were originally spot welded on. Mine broke off when I tried to remove my hood bumper. I welded a nut on from the bottom.

These are very close to OE, there are several Re-pop that aren't.

Yeah there is a nut underneath the core support, but there is also a nut on the bumper stop stud to lock the adjustment. Use a philips head screwdriver to hold the stud at the top and wrench to lock the nut. RPF178 on page 120 in the PY catalog shows the nut on the stud. This is not the same nut used to attach it to the core support.

Sorry the photo is a bit blurry but you can see the nut to lock the adjustment of the bumper stop stud.

You need a camera Gary. Life is too short for blurry pictures...

Steve,
That's the picture I'm looking for...is that nut welded to the rad support?

Yeah I know Paul, but it was more of the closeup and the lighting. I had to get so close to even get the photo I figured it wouldn't be good. I couldn't open the garage door so I'll have to try again tomorrow. It's supposed to be sunny and in the high 30s so that might help too.

But at least I tried.

Yes that nut should be tacked to the underside and as Gary has shown the upper nut is to lock it down once the proper height adjustment is made.

I finally found the reason for the blurry photo after trying several times and getting the same results.... the macro setting wasn't turned on for my Nikon.

Here's 2 photos. One shows the adjustment nut and the other the philips head for the top to adjust the bumperstop.

if your core support is a repop or aftermarket there is no nut on it there was a nut clipped in the support that the bumper screwed in to,you prob have to get a nut for either side of support and use like that or find a spring nut that will fit in the support
