Default Just added a 64 LeMans to my stable

I just closed the deal on a pretty cool 64 Lemans. The body isn't perfect but definitely a nice driver quality. Mechanically, the car is very nice. Here are some details and some pics:

400/461 stroker (4.25" stroke) with 1968 #16 heads, Ram air manifolds
JPB Ross custom pistons with 29cc dish (about 9.3 compression)
Comp Cams HR Roller cam 230/236 duration, .510/.521 lift, 114 LSA (unk HR lifters)
Harland Sharp Rockers
Edelbrock dual quad intake with Edelbrock carbs
Tremek TKO600 w/2.87 first gear
Ford 9 inch rear with 3.89 gear
Vintage Air A/C and Cold case radiator
Manual brakes with front disc conversion - new brake system with dual master cylinder
Global West knock off front upper and lower control arms - all new shocks
BF Goodrich red line tires - 255/60 15 rear 215/70 15 front
All new wiring harnesses - engine/light/under dash/tail
New seat covers, carpet, and nice dash pad

The rear lower quarters need replacing but otherwise the body appears very solid - good trunk pan, floor pans, etc. There's more I'm forgetting but as you can see -it's pretty well done.

Those '65 seats look fine in there, IMO. The only thing I would change on the car would be to drop a 3.00 third member in there in place of the 3.89. The low first gear you have and the torque you have would be fine with it, and it would be a great all-around cruiser that would get better mileage, run cooler, and run faster down the open road.

What’s not to like?

Nice car equipped well.

Have the quarter panels repaired and blend the paint, or if the rust isn’t too bad leave it be, then drive.

Think hard about having a complete paint job done on it, life’s too short to have your car in paint jail for months to years.

Disregard what I said about changing the rear gears. Missed that it had a TKO trans!

Thanks all - I’m very excited about the purchase. The engine build and trans only have about 300 miles if that so I haven’t ripped into it yet as the trans has at least a 500 mile break in period. The rear bumper is off set to the left by about a 1/2-1” but otherwise doesn’t look tweaked - I’ll have to adjust that if possible. Here are some more pics:

I don't know which I'm more jealous of. The cars or the garage. Enjoy. There's nothing like getting a new toy.

Haha- thank you. The garage and lift come in handy! Don’t know how I worked on my back prior to getting it!

The interior pic in your 2nd post looks a lot more Gold than your previous topics interior pic. On the the previous topic, the 65 interior looks more like SADDLE.
