What spare came in a 1972 Trans Am?If you have Rallys or Honeycomb rims was the spare the same? Could you have the dealer install a space saver? If yes, what color was the rim and inflator? Also need to confirm paint color of jack stand and jack?

Check the sticker on the decklid. It will show either a full size or space saver tire. If the sticker is gone you may be able to find out by the build sheet.

My '71 T/A came with a fullsize Polyglass GT F60 on a JW code Rally II rim. I'd say your '72 T/A probably came with a fullsize spare too.

Forgot about the rest ...

The base will be a light blue. The "poll" part of the jack is gold cad plating. I have seen the ratcheting mechanism in light gray or light blue.

The inflator bottle for the spacesaver is normally blue.

Dennis, thanks for the info, I think I'll be safe and load in a full size spare. I have a couple backups for the judges. I have a complete set that is suppose to be orginal T/A, late 1970 to late 1971. It has a gray base, gray jack mechanism and the bottle is red. I also have another set that has an aluminum rim space saver, with a blue bottle. The base on that one is light blue and the jack mechanism is is black. I guess they'll be up for sale.
