I think even the one I posted still has the long inlet and get in the way of the bracket, I think the side fitting pumps would be the best deal also .

I don't think so. I'll try to remember to take a look at the mount.

I picked these up the other day, I couldn't get the originals but these duplicates are identical except for the holes not drilled for the biscuit mounts. The straps bolt to the backside of the flat area and go to the head. These are the 2nd style mounts for the later side mount engines.
I won't be using the first style mount on my 455 going in. I'm debating how strong these will be, previous owner of the original set had a 389 in a 55 Chevy . One little thing I changed per Bill Hanlons front seal upgrade article was a newer style seal. The seal in the article went all the way through the cover, but I used a more common type that had a metal flange on the front. I had to remove some of the flange for the contour of the front cover so It would sit flush.

Just so I'm picturing this correctly, these utilize the square flat areas to mount to the front frame spot where the previous engine had the timing cover mount. The longer edge bolts to the 61-up style mounts on the side of the engine.
(Or am I backwards?)

The longer edge bolts directly to the side of the block.

Interesting... So are these still produced, or who made those? (And where do I get a set?)

No one makes or sells these anymore. I was told the originals like these were purchased thru Honest Charlies back in the day. They were designed/sold by Hurst , but I think they subleted some of there work out and may have some small variances like the early mount. I may make some copies of these myself.

If you do, I'd probably be interested in a set. No hurry, I'd just toss them on a shelf "just in case".... My 370 is running great these days!!! (Knock, Knock)

I've got one of those I've had for years. I never knew what it was. I suspected it was early car because it came with a bunch of 60-62 stuff I bought.
Are the old Mallory Rev-Pol distributors worth anything? I've got one of those as well. Mike |

Hi guys. Just wanted to chime in on the 61 thru 67 Hurst mounts. I have a set of those that I've had for many years. I'll post a few pictures here. I also have the brackets/mounts for the 55 thru 57 Chevy. I'm only missing the support brackets that go from the mount to the head. The box is long gone though.
I'm sure I'll never use them. If you're interested in them PM me. Thanks, Jim BTY there is a set on EBAY right now. |

I bought a NOS set of Hurst mounts for later engines still in the box and instructions on Ebay. I used the set for my Model A Gasser, Pontiac power. Also found Hurst mounts only, chrome plated on Ebay as well and picked them up. They are out there and really cool to have in your car!

Would you happen to have the part number of that seal you used with the flange? Would appreciate it. Thanks!

No I don't, they came with the gasket sets I used from Mr. Gasket, Felpro and Butler performance. I couldn't get a number off the seal in the 60 cover.
