Question about 73 TA carb ports
I know the one on the left is the EGR port. What are the two ports on the right. (You do realize it is not polite to laugh at rookies?) I am sure one of them is the gas vapor port. This is an early 73 TA - first generation emissions.

The dist vacuum advance connects to a tee at the back (brake booster).
Far left is EGR, far right is charcoal canister, left of fuel inlet is thermal spark advance valve. Vacuum maze diagram |

The two ports of the base plate, on the right side (everything is viewed as if you are sitting behind the wheel), are EGR relay (far right) and transmission vacuum modulator (center, right of fuel inlet). The one on the left goes to charcoal cannister (canister).
Back port goes to distributor vacuum advance relay switch (TCS). Last edited by Held for Ransom; 07-10-2012 at 08:29 PM. |

Suppose I just left all this crap off?
I live in God's country (Texas) and don't have to pass any emission inspections. I replaced the original maifold with a non-EGR Performer. Also, when cliff rebuilt my carb we left off the EGR and auto-choke. I have all the emissions stuff saved in a box if I need it. What is the down-side to just connecting the vapor cannester and distributor and plugging the rest?

Another stupid question - fuel lines
The fuel and return hoses that run from the hard lines on the passenger side to the fuel pump on the drivers side - is there any bracket to hold them in place? How are they routed.
