I use 10 on multiple apps and keep the remote and filter as low as possible.

AN12 on mine, less pressure drop if you have long lines

Are you running the lines off a adapter block , or have you done the more work but better way of drilling and taping the block for 1\2" pipe?
If your drilling the block you can go into the return hole with a grinding Burr and put a nice funnel shape taper in there after the threads end. A 6 long Burr will also allow you to get in deep enough to round over the inside bend of that passage where it turns up to the front of the block.

-12 for me but with oil pump and filter up front we had long line lengths
Also enlarged passages in the block etc and oil pressure measured at the front main out through the face of the block (smaller line in pic) Accumulator to enlarged feed hole by dizzy and you can see -10 drains to pan from the back of both heads

Bottom line is, there is only sense is having it as large as the smallest AN fitting any of your hardware should have based on its ID. Otherwise, you are overbuilding it just to have a bottleneck.

Just piggybacking off this thread as I’m having a hell of a time getting the dual -12 AN hose fittings to fit. They interfere with each other when trying to tighten the lines at the remote housing on the block.
I’m using:
Any suggestions? I know a few board members here have run -12 lines. How did you make it work?

James, Wondering if you have enough room to install an adapter on one of the holes to offset each fitting. Something like this. https://www.amazon.ca/Gsinodrs-Fitti...22697296&psc=1
Only other way to spread them apart some is to make your own adapter and have the threaded hole tapped on an angle like 10 to 15 degrees. Very easy to make out of aluminum. I though you were running an IA2 that is already threaded for fittings? But I do understand how close the holes are to each other.

I was thinking another way to do it is have a really good Aluminum welder, weld the fittings on for you. I had my Son weld these to a manifold cross-over. There is a thicker Aluminum oil adapter someone sells. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/c...9/make/pontiac

If you manufacture your own block adapter you do not have to come straight out just like a tapped engine block, the lower fitting can come out of the block adapter at different angles to avoid fitting to fitting problems
I did a 90° turn in the adapter then a 45° elbow at exit, and no this turn did not adversly restrict flow, alot of flow area in the turn
