I have a 79 column in my 77 trans am so the 79 column has the “box” around the turn signal stalk to accommodate the dimmer switch which a 77 column would not have had. I’ve had the column apart before and started wondering if it’s possible to remove the upper most portion of the column and replace it with the earlier version. Part of me thinks so but I also remember thinking when the column was apart it may not be possible.
