6 point roll bar
Am planning to install a 6 point roll bar in my 79 TransAm. Do any of you have first hand experience with a particular manufacturer as to fit and finish? Or do these kits tend to be universal and require a lot custom fitting?

You could try Autopower. They seem to have a lot of prebent roll bars available. I don’t have experience with their prebent roll bars but my friend had them do a custom 6-point cage at their shop in San Diego for his 1971 GS455 and it turned out nice.

never been a fan of kits, there will be some added work to make it fit good. Look into Carty Race cars in Seminole, not too far from you. He is good and quick turn around.

I have a S&W roll bar it fit well I did take the rear bars and had them bent to drop through the package tray so I could keep the rear seat. If you do the package tray way go next to speaker holes so you can add speakers later if wanted. My2¢

Thanks for the input. I know the limitations of the 'kits' but my local shop is months out and I am getting impatient. After talking to the guys at S&W I decided to order their kit, and several other people said they are the best if you have to go with a kit. I have a welder here who is excellent and has done roll bars before and he is mobile so I don't have to take my car anywhere. Hopefully I will have the kit in about 10 days and we will see how it goes. Will post when all is done.
